I'm so sorry for your loss, Jeff.
Anyone that does not think pets are family, should not have them.
They provide truly unconditional love and companionship.
I have attached a couple pics of my two pals, Macy is my 15-year-old champion pure-bred Cocker Spaniel and Lucy, our almost 2-year-old Boston Terrier that is the most eager to learn and smart pup I have ever seen.

I never thought I could tolerate a pet in the house but I came to love this one that my wife brought home as a pet for my son. Ginger was with us for 20 years until the summer of 2011.

We finally got another cat from the Collin County Animal Shelter in 2014 and my wife named her Elsa. She is the sweetest, gentlest and quietest cat I have ever seen. She is also a Maine Coon and is now six years old.

Where we live there are a lot of predators...coyotes, bobcats and great horned owls...so we don't let our pets roam unless we walk with them.

Ginger is the gray short hair and Elsa is the Maine Coon.

Default Cool cat...

I recently found out that Eenie (as in eenie, meenie, minee moe) is gone.

Back while living in Nacogdoces, Tx. we looked out after her. She was a great "yard cat". She was a Calico, allowed NO dogs in the yard; I've seen her chase Pits, etc. from the yard/porch. Her previous owner had abused her; we took her in. She had been "fixed" and her front paws were de-clawed as a kitten.

I've seen her nab birds out of the air while secreted in leaf piles, chase squirrels, sun in the middle of the street while cars steered around her, and, she'd wait for you to come home from work or follow you part way. She was somewhat of a feline dog if that makes sense. Best guess is that she was 13-14 years old.

Bob

Default So sorry...

Jeff, I'm so sorry. I lost one of my Siamese earlier this year --- he got out of the house somehow, and we never found him, no matter how we tried. He was an indoor kitty, and with all the coyotes, feral cats, dogs, and other predators around, probably never had a chance.

You ask if our feline friends' souls wait for us on the other side...I like to believe that they are content to do so; waiting patiently in that eternal sunshine to feel the stroke of our hands on their backs again, the scratch of our fingers under their chins...so that they can turn on their gentle (or rumbing!) purrs because all is well in the universe again.

Sorry --- heaven just wouldn't BE heaven if our furry little friends aren't there with us. Rest assured that you will see Carlotta again. She's waiting, just waiting, a little ways away...

Default Sorry for your loss

Sorry to hear of the loss of your fur baby. We had to put two cats down this year - Tigger at 16 years old was down to 5 lbs and lost control of his back legs. A few months later, Sebastian at 14 was rapidly losing weight and energy. He had a large mass in his abdomen to go with his major heart murmur and mega colon. It's never easy.

Default Our new kitty!!

Yesterday "The Vixen" decided that I'd sulked long enough (2 years & 3 months) over the loss of my beloved Maine Coon, Carlotta.

We brought home this little 8 week old guy from the shelter. His name is Tango.

Sorry to hear you lost a friend. I lost my big friend cat too, and I know what it's like. It sucks.
