Indeed. Will do.

We have probably 8 inches of snow outside (south of Seattle a little way). I am REALLY glad I don't have to commute anymore right now. I will be dealing with some rather heavily damaged old lilacs later in the week, though.

Dang K'Tesh! Another one of those kits I had back in the day that I'll need to get the parts for now and build again!

TJ, save yourself some aggravation and a great deal of time and just get this: http://www.erockets.biz/semroc-flyi...-trident-kv-71/

Laser cut gas passages (and fins), a neat jig to align the various tubes properly, a nice decal set and much more.

Just a happy customer who has a good flying Trident from this kit (and a backup kit in my stash).

Jim,

I cut out that pattern and laid it on fins on both of my Tridents (both of which use the Semroc laser cut fins). The cutout fin is 1/32 - 3/64 of an inch all the way around larger. It also doesn't conform to the aft cones on the BT-5s (BNC-5W) very well toward the aft end.

Now whether the whole chain that started with that original set of instructions/patterns, through the scanner, to my computer and my printer preserved the dimensions exactly or not is an open question since there isn't a reference length in the scan.

It wouldn't hurt if someone out there still has the pattern sheet and could scan it with a ruler. That's really the only way you're going to get the precise size/shape down to the nearest gnat's whisker.....

A big Trident would be very cool.

Problem is... Semroc doesn't sell .ork files. I'm trying to sim this in OpenRocket.

Tell me about it... I've got one original (bought off of a teacher when I was a teen, and three clones in various states of construction (one flown).

Hawk's Hobby at one time made a kit called the "Super Trident" which was BT-60 based, just like their "Super Orbital Transport"

When I was a teen I belonged to a NAR sanctioned club in Ft. Wayne, IN, where I grew up and one of my mentors there up-scaled a Trident then (80's) and a 3x Alien Explorer that shredded fins at liftoff! That was the first I ever really saw any "High Powered" rocketry. I want to say the Alien Explorer launched on a "J", but I can't say definitively.
