That has a graphite look to it that is really nice. Too bad you have to cover it with paint.

Graphite...hmm. Maybe he could build two and leave one primed that way. It would be a "carbon copy".

Yes, it is a nice look. --and because it looks so good in flat black, I may shoot it with Dullcote after the decals are on.

Nice looking build, Jeffy Jeep.
Would you be so kind as to divulge what primer you are using to get that graphite look?

Thanks! The primer is Rustoleum Painter's Touch black primer.

Default The Reveal!

and..............................................V oila!

I shot the model with gloss black enamel 3 days ago. Last night I applied the waterslide decals and tonight I brushed it with 2 coats of acrylic floor polish.

One of the light blue dot decals (forward of the faux engine housings) got damaged during application, so I replaced all 4 of them with light blue adhesive film that I punched out with the largest die on my leather punch.

A very satisfying build! Challenging and VERY cool!

Thanks for watching. Good night.

Wow, those replacement dots look to be a perfect match. You mentioned adhesive film -- is it Trim Monokote?

Nice looking build, by the way!

Thank you. It is indeed Trim Monokote. The label's gone, so I don't know the exact color or number. I maintain an extensive supply of Trim Monokote sheets in many colors. There seems to be always a use for it.
