No cheating here. I painted mine. Came out terribly up close but brilliantly at a distance. I've since moved to Tamiya tape and won't be looking back.

It was one of my better masking jobs. I used regular old blue Scotch painter's tape. Would have been even better if I used the Scotch blue 471 plastic tape that I discovered later. I think it is similar to Tamiya tape.

Here is my Broadsword done in my take on a "kinda" classic paint scheme. I knew it was an old kit when I tried to slide a 24/60 RMS casing into it, and it would not go in all the way. Turns out the Broadsword was designed for the shorter length, and shorter lived, E15. The E9/E12 (and 24/60 RMS) are longer than the E15, by 1/4".

Those nice crisp mask lines are courtesy of Tamiya tape. Has not failed me since I switched a few years back.

That little one in the picture is a scratch-built mini 2-stage Bertha. Have not flown it yet. I think I'll add a tube inside the booster to help direct gases into the upper stage engine's nozzle. It has vent holes but I've never gap-staged the mini motors.

Default Finished

I finished up my Big Bertha model.

My plan was to use an old 'checkerboard' Estes parachute with the model. Sadly, over the years my unassembled parachutes had been stored the heat must have gotten to them. They were all stuck together and when I tried to take them apart either the plastic ripped or the printing came off.

Thanks again for all the help (Especially tbzep).

Thanks, John.

I think I will wait to fly it until NARAM-60.
