Default Falcon Heavy update (links)

Hello All,

The launch window for the inaugural Falcon Heavy launch will be from 1:30 PM EST (1830 GMT) to 4:00 PM EST (2100 GMT) on Tuesday, February 6th. Live coverage of the launch can be seen *here* http://spaceflightnow.com/2018/02/0...-status-center/ , beginning about 15 minutes before liftoff (which I presume is set for the beginning of the launch window), and:

More information on this mission is available here (see: http://spaceflightnow.com/2018/02/0...n-heavy-flight/ and http://spaceflightnow.com/2018/01/2...vy-test-launch/ ). The rocket’s payload, a midnight cherry red Tesla Roadster, will—as Elon Musk has said—be playing David Bowie’s iconic hit “Space Oddity” as it soars into the cosmos.

Thanks for the update, and the links. This is the most excitement that I have had for a launch in a long time.

My father and his wife are vacationing in Florida this month. They are headed to the Cape to witness the launch.

Here's a nice ongoing live stream that is showing back-to-back older SpaceX launches while we wait for them to switch to the Falcon Heavy live feed...

Seeing the two boosters land together was spectacular.

Yeah that was friggin' AMAZING... just literally amazing... almost like what I imagine the first moon landing would have been like (had I been born to see it).

Still awaiting word on the core booster... the feed from the ship cut off about time of landing. The second stage successfully inserted the Tesla roadster and "Starman", a dummy wearing the new SpaceX flight pressure suits the astronauts will wear when launching on manned Dragon capsules, into LEO. Also aboard was a Tesla "pocket car" model of the roadster with a tiny Starman passenger as an "Easter egg" and also a "space ark" specially designed long term data storage unit designed to preserve human knowledge and culture permanently in deep space.

That was awesome! The shot of Starman in the Tesla was reminiscent of Heavy Metal.

Since it's almost 30 minutes later and we still haven't heard anything my guess is there was an issue with the center core landing on the drone ship.
