Default Anyone know about the "Star Scythe"?

Has anyone heard of the "Star Scythe" kit or plans? A search of Jimmy Z's. YORP, and Bing has turned up nada. Here's a pic of the fins from erockets:

Looks like a possible upcoming Semroc offering?

I solved the mystery. Apparently it's a custom one off job by Carl at Semroc for a forum member at the "other" forum five years ago. And erockets still has the fins for sale! The fins looked so intriguing, will try PMing the member for pictures. The pictures in his five year old thread are disabled. Thanks!

BARGeezer,

nice to see some of my old designs are still lurking out there.

Those fins are for my EVR StarScythe, a BT-60 based fantasy fighter I came up with several years back. Here's the original build thread;

http://forums.rocketshoppe.com/showthread.php?t=1781

Been out of the hobby for a bit, but back when I was building and designing regularly, the StarScythe was originally a model I intended to make a kit of. Contacted a few manufacturers to try and produce, but never did get anyone to bite.

I then started an attempt to kit the thing myself, which is when Carl got involved and supplied me with those laser cut fins. I was never able to make the numbers work out for anything viable, and dropped the idea altogether.

If you are interested in building one, shoot me a line, and I can get you full dimensions, PPT files for the decals, and even a PDF of the instructions.

Thanks,
EV

P.S. I realized that the old thread is full of dead picture links. Here's a photo of the completed model...

Thanks for responding Echo. I already ordered the fins from erockets. Without the benefit of a picture I was surmising that the fins were forward swept, like a grappling hook. Will PM you for all the details, that looks like a real "cutting edge" design (pun intended). Cheers.

Neat design. Missed your original thread back in '07 somehow.

Some people still go to forums.rocketshoppe.com to access the site even though I got the forum its own domain back in 2006 or so. Try this link instead:
