Managed to get out and get a couple launches on the Laser Torpedo. I only used an A8-3 but it flew great! The second launch the parachute didn't unroll but I managed to get under it and catch it. The nosecon still took damage somehow but I fixed it already

I didn't manage to get a picture of it firing but you can see some smoke! Hehe

Got a few more Laser Torpedo launches in with my buddy yesterday. This time I got to use C6-5s and C6-7s. Awesome flights!









On one of the launches the parachute didn't unroll and AGAIN the nosecone took damage. Looks like it swung around and hit the engine, leaving a curved imprint. Also chipped the corner of a fin. Not enough to keep this guy out of the flight rotation though. Hehe

The damage you are referring sounds like the infamous Estes Dent factor, caused by the shock cord being too short so that when ejection happens the nose cone whips back around and hits the tube.

I'm sure others will weigh in to confirm or dispel this, but that's what it sounds like to me.

The only time you have too much shock cord is when you can't get it all inside the sustainer...
