question on Baron
With all the talk of the bring back of the DRM. I looked in my old 72 cat. the Baron name was in my head from days long gone. Any one know the story on this kit ...Baron cat. 721-5102 ? I think it would look cool sitting next to the DRM. But wonder was it ever really put out as a kit?

Hmm. It's one of those cold power kits... but that would be really cool as a standard boost glider.

I have the Baron. I bought it back before Estes/Damon bought Vashon (Original manufacturer). I never flew it with the glider as flying the rocket alone was always 'exciting'. Vason supplied Monokote to cover the fins of the rocket and the wing/tail of the glider. I had my Mom iron on the Monokote. She did an excellent job, too. LAUNCH magazine had a look back at Vasion several issues ago, if someone is interested in the company history. Bob |

You can find the article about VASHON in the March/April 2007 issue of LAUNCH (Saturn 1-B on the cover) on page 58. |
