I would love to read the transcript of this call. I think Barry has lost touch with the hobby enthusiasts who made Estes and have long supported it. They--- WE, are the ones who will be supporting it long after the mass-market thrill ride has ended in disaster.

We'll all wait to hear what was said on Wednesday.

Wow RD you're right, we'd have been all over that deal. How amazingly short-sighted of Estes. What were the other 4?

Post the manifesto.

Default He never called

Okay folks, Barry never called me yesterday. I sent him an e-mail this morning expressing my disappointment and asking him if he'd like to reschedule.

I'm not impressed. Wonder if he has employees checking the message forums?

You think maybe, after they saw two threads under this topic, on two different forums, that he decided that his private conversation with you might end up not being very private? <vbg>

mabey he was expecting to speak to an individuals concerns ,rather than have the whole discussion posted in public...that was the intention was it not?

* edit , sorry I guess Doug was thinking the same thing while I was replying.

Around here we call that being a gutless weenie.

Or something less flattering.

Hope he reads that. Wimp.

may be. Still, I think that unless Tunick told AK to go ahead and broadcast the details, I wouldn't blame Tunick for not keeping the appointment. Don't know any CEO or prez or vp or any upper management type that would. Maybe he could've called or emailed and said, "you screwed up, I'm calling it off!"

edit: 1) some reason I was thinking of Arizona instead of Ark. errr. Alaska!!!!
2) Never mind. BT apparently was just a day late.

2 Cents -

Let’s remember guys that, for all of the shortcomings that some of us have pointed out about Estes, they have provided many of us with year’s worth of memories and an entry into a hobby that, for many of us, is a lifelong addiction.

It's beneficial to point out the negatives as long as it's done with the intention of provoking change for the better. I think that's what most of us complainers want, but sometimes we let our emotions get the best of us.

I'm going to try and keep this in mind when posting about Estes going forward.

Estes will always be more than just another company to me. Lets promote open, honest and respectful dialogue with Estes in the hope that good things will follow.

End of 2 Cents -

This, to me, is the correct approach.
