Can anyone identify these fins?
I was doing some ebay surfing and came across these fins: http://cgi.ebay.com/Set-of-Plastic-...id=p3286.c0.m14
Does anyone know what rocket they are from? I'm just curious. |

Look like Estes SM-3 Navy Seahawk to me...
I'm looking at my model right now and they seem to match. http://www.spacemodeling.org/JimZ/e...awk/est2149.pdf |

That sure does look like a match. I haven't seen very many of the Seahawks for sale on ebay or anywhere else. According to Ye Olde Rocket Shoppe, www.rocketshoppe.com they were only produced in '98. |

I belive they were from the python kit# 2129 and the Pro series Terrier / Sandhawk kit #2083 as well. I also have a extra Seahawk kit if your looking for one.

Yup, definiely Python or Seahawk. Both rockets used the same 2-piece, 3 D, plastic fins. Of course, the Seahawk also had an additional, smaller set of fins. Jeff

Thanks! There's lots of folks watching the auction, which surprises me, but I'll be happy if it goes for the minimum bid. Hopefully someone can put them to good use. Joe |
