I have a Viking bulk pack kit. Unfortunately, the die-crushed cardstock fins are severely crushed, making them curved to the point they would be better propeller blades than fins. Totally unusable. I've been raiding the bulk pack for parts, but maybe I'll actually build one as an Akela-1.

Well, since this nearly 14-year-old thread has been dredged up, and @SolarYellow mentioned the Estes Viking, which is indeed a descendant of but with NO common parts to the Akela-1, here is some bridging material from 2019: https://www.oldrocketforum.com/showthread.php?t=17688

I have since also acquired an 8-pack of Akela-1 kits from eBay, but have not gotten inside it. Instead, it's up on a high shelf with my other bulk boxes of kits (including one of the Estes Vikings).
