It's got a lot of wear and tear on it now so it's kinda hard to tell, but it mighta been a well built bird at one time. Doug .

Based on the age of this one, I'd say this is actually an original Centuri Saturn as opposed to the later Estes re-release of same. Besides the age, the metallic paper wrap around the service module was specific to the Centuri version. Earl

It looks like it was in a fire.
It looks like it WAS the fire.

I agree, dual engine mount is a giveaway too! It looks better than the one I built in the 70's in eighth grade. Held up a little better too!

But seriously. Is it worth $25?

Heck, maybe a couple of people will get into a bidding war and it'll go over $100! Hey, it COULD happen - maybe in a Bizarro alternate reality where old, beat up dirty built rockets are worth more than a pristine MIB kit!!! Greg |

Yep, my mistake; it is a Centuri 1/100 S1B.
The Estes version of this kit was single 24mm whereas the Centuri was dual 18mm. Bet a nice one would fly really well on a pair of old Cox D8-3's and even better on Aerotech D10's or D21's. Regardless, that thing is a beat-up TURD that has obviously lived a VERY hard life. I would not pay 25 CENTS for it let alone 25 dollars !
