I just wanted to invite any one out there that may find themselves in Colorado on July 28 & 29th to come on out to see some really big rockets take to the sky. Along with our annually Chili Blaster launch, Ball Aerospace and United Launch Alliance will be sponsoring their Student Intern Launch. Their big rocket this year will take to the sky under three N-Class motors. Two in the booster and one for the upper stage! This massive rocket will eject over a dozen payload experiments on the way up. This launch is the same field that NARAM 52 was held. Hope to see a couple of you out there.

So John, I guess that means you'll be getting some photos for those who can't make it? ;)

I very seldom take photos at our rocket launches. I'm either flying models or working. I'm sure someone will have photos to view. Maybe I'll video the flgiht of the big rocket.

I am so sorry I posted this message here, I thought I clicked on the mission control section.

Scott, please feel free to delete this thread. I can repost it in the correct location later.

No harm, no foul John - we're just having a little fun. Thanks for posting this here, I might have missed it otherwise. I look forward to some launch reports.

Love the event logo, by the way. Spot landing in a cattle trough sounds like a hoot!

As luck would have it, our launch date on 28-29 July was just cancelled due to the burn ban in Wisconsin. As we all go through AP withdrawal, Colorado is starting to sound do-able.

ECOF itself will be rescheduled in either Aug or Sep. Please check back for updates.

We do have a weekend in September, I'm calling it "postponed".

burn ban in Wisconsin.

I am originaly from the Chicago area and I've never known of a burn ban in the Midwest. So it's that dry by you ! We've gotten more rain these past two weeks then we've gotten in the past year where I live in Pueblo West. I bet we will hit our 2" average rainfall this month easy.

There should be about a thousand people out there on Saturday, most of which will be there to see the Students launch their rockets. for Sunday I bet there will be no more then 40 people out there.

It you do make it out make sure you track me down to say hi.

We're 4+" below our seasonal average in the southern half of the state, it's crispy. I've been here my whole life, never seen conditions like this- here come the zombies!

I hope that we're not following the pattern of 1988...or we might be in for a long wait for hpr (think it wasn't till Oct that the burn ban was lifted).

I posted this launch in the correct place on this site as well. Check it out since it includes a link to the student launch rockets that will be there.

John,

Does this mean we won't see you at NARAM? :(

Mike Fritz the Head of Estes Marketing will be there instead of me. Our big launch here in Colorado was not the reason for me not going this year.

Along with Mike Fritz's message on TRF that he *would* be at NARAM representing Estes, that sounds like what it is.

And I won't be going either (wahhh...). Unless someone wants to sponsor my entire trip. And pay my mortgage. And give me pocket money...
