Perfect weather for a redemption day!! All went well after two launches. Straight and stable....

Ahhh! Sweet!! Always nice when they come back safe and sound, especially after a rebuild.

What is the land structure in the background on the first photo? Is that an earthen dam?

Gotta say, not many trees in sight! That was one of the nice things about the launch locations out west that I visited back in my LDRS days that us easterners always seem to battle with and that is trees, or in this case the lack thereof.

Its balsawood actually – From SEMROC. I carved out the window cavities. Oversized the cavities slightly, back filled them with Hobbylite Filler. I created window template to form the contours of the window areas exactly while the filler was still fresh and prior to installing the final parts. The Entire cone is covered with Photographic film, scaled and fit to the 4 Capsule sections. I printed the graphics onto the paper. There is more explanation at my original post listed below:
