Is there a source for renderings of scale rockets that show details well , specifically for a MIM-23B Hawk ?

You can look here as well:

Not a wealth of info on the "B" model, but there is some and a few pics.

Andy,

Depending on where you live, Hawk-Bs are relatively think on the ground in West Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Ft. Sill, Oklahoma has the relocated Air Defense Artillery Museum that used to be in El Paso. Does your nearest army post have a museum of some kind? Nothing beats putting your hands on one.

Lawton's right up the road about an hour and a half from here. I should go look one sunny afternoon. It would be good to have photos of actual 1/1 scale rockets for reference. Thanks for the tip, I never would have known.

If by some chance you get there in the near future and they have one like this -
I would be VERY interested in some specific detail pics  http://i49.tinypic.com/2m66cmo.jpg

The Launch Pad makes both the MIM-23A (two sizes) and the MIM-23B.

http://www.the-launch-pad.com/hawk16.htm (1.6 inch diam)

http://www.the-launch-pad.com/hawk26.htm (2.6 inch diam)

http://www.the-launch-pad.com/hawk%2023b.htm

These can provide for you a basis from which you could detail out to your heart's content! I do like their kits, but these are 'builders kits.' Gordy can make you the decals, too.

ERockets sells Launch Pad kits; I see them on EBAY from time to time.

Hope this helps.
