Viet Nam 40 years later.
The Viet Nam war ended for the U.S. 40 years ago this week in disgrace.Ten years before that end, my father did his last mission in Saigon, now known as Ho Chi Minh City. He was a pilot in a C-47(DC-3) and the C-123 Provider, with many different missions. I think I shared a few of his stories here.

Shoulda bombed the pi$$ outta the North until they submitted.

My father served USAF in Thailand at Ubon RTAFB from '69 to '70.

Vitually everyone including him were angry at the POS restrictive rules of engagement.
That war was never fought to be won and it needlessly cost thousands of lives.

In the future we need to use our military in the manner it was prior to the existence of the UN.
Conquer and Subjugate. Take over the territory/resources as spoils of war.
Not an 'occupier', an OWNER of the conquered territory.
No more of this 'liberator' crap that always burns the USA.

Neither was Korea, or any any war since Vietnam for that matter.

Today was the day we pulled out of Viet Nam. There is a wall in Washington, D.C. that my father could have been on, thankfully, he is not.
