Well, it had to happen sooner or later. After how many years in this hobby, I had my first CATO on a C6-5 at the NARCON sport launch. Unfortunately, my scratch built USS Spherion was the victim. Here's the carnage;

Dead giveaway that something wasn't right was the fact that I had to sand the casing to get it to fit.

Here's the side of the other motor from the box that wouldn't fit;

I think I can rebuild her...(after all, we do have the technology!)

I can't see the pics from here at work, but I had three D12-5's that wouldn't fit into my 24mm SPEV on Sunday. I'm a little worried about using them now. :confused:

If our previous method of date code interpretation holds true, the manufacturing date should be MMDDYY, meaning Batch A, September 6, 2005.

I hate to see it happen to anyone. It's finally caught up with me also. I only had two or three CATO's since the mid 70's and suddenly in the last few years I've had several.

No wonder you had a malfunction! You tried to use a raketenmotor instead of a rocket motor. ;)
