In the late 60’s and early 70’s there was a company called Space Age Industries. They had some very great looking kits, but like so many other companies they went out of business, like most they could not compete with Centuri and Estes.

Will for the last few years I have been hoping to find eather a kit or that the plans would surface for there kits especially the Pulsar and the Hen Grenade, the nose cone on the Hen Grenade looks very close to the one Semroc makes. Maybe as is with the Mach-1 kits maybe someone on this sit can also help with tracking down these kits so clones can be made by us all if you like that is?

All I know about/remember about SAI was that it appeared circa mid 1969 and was owned by a guy by the name of Tag Powell. Mr. Powell started a small scale scandal by purchasing a lower number than was avilable to the general public. SAI bought out AMROCS/Rocket Supply company which was started by Lindsay Audin.

Are you sure he didn't buy a "lifetime" membership with the NAR like Bob Kaplow did? That gives you a lower than normal number.

NO I am not sure if it was a simple lower number (for prestie purposes) or a lifetime memberhip lower number. If you review (which I will do ) some of the MRm magaz from the 70-71 timeframe I do believe there is some mention about this.

Well, if the NAR got a nice big fat donation in return for the number, I don't see a problem.

But if they did it just because they like his face, well...
