Hey, now that you mention it, I think that I have seen that low-life before, hanging around at the edge of my launch site...

He has lots of friends. There's a gang of them that surround me every time I go out to launch.

Yeah, that's Rocketus Eatemupus alright. I'd know that mug shot anywhere. :p My latest is an old Scale Kits Alarm. Never did get it down. :( Dang, that was a great rocket.

I've been known to use the ole 12GSG tree retrieval method a few times.
However, I would not recommend this recovery method for you folks that launch at schools or city parks.

Both are now standard equipment for everyones range box. Some deck cord would be just as effective.

Dad's recovery method is somewhat low tech (slingshot, lead weight, fishing line, and a LOT of time).

Rocketus Eatemupus..........Thats the BEST.......:D
Justice would be to cut em down and make paper pulp with em and then roll more body tubes! Turn the beast into rockets as punishment.
I suggested the rifle method but my father declined(his rifles). And we live in the country.
Dougs idea is nice too.....Dunno about the slingshot.Id be there for hours..

James Gartrell of the Dallas Area Rocket Society took this foto of a RET at a full buffet.....Call Jenny Craig......If that's the tree I think it is, at DARS' McGregor, Texas field, it's lost some of its potency. It took a lightning hit or wind damage in a storm a while back and about half of it was felled. RIP, MFRET :D

There is a misconception about the Rocket Eating Tree... People forget about the entire order of the species...
Kingdom: Plantae
(unranked): Angiosperms
(unranked): Eudicots
(unranked): Pisusoffus
Order: Aggrivatus
Family: Hibranchius
Subfamily: Catchum
Tribe: aneatum
Genus: Rocketus
Species: Eatemupus
Subspecies: Kantclimus
Not to be confused with the common Kite Eating Tree.

The rare Plane Eating Tree

Or the endangered Bike Eating Tree

These species are to be avoided at all cost.
Dreaming of the tree eating rocket...
