DaveR's son's Estes Drag Race set. I was amazed to see that I actually got one of the two little beasts in the frame. They are about the size of a Quark/Swift/Mosquito and went up on A10-3T's. Unfortunately, the slow one was lost, but the faster one recovered about 10 ft. from me after an interesting flight profile. BTW, that's DaveR's DRM on the pad next to the little rockets.

Barone's competition helicopter duration model. It's the first time I've seen one fly in person.

Some folks thought the wind turned the rocket over about 100 ft. off the ground, but I captured the fighter that put some 20mm bullet holes in its airframe. :D

My camera rocket. I've always flown it naked (the rocket, not me). I slapped some flourescent paint on it before letting it be seen in public. ;)

Camera payload pointing down on descent. Notice the 12" chute with spill hole. I have to do drastic things to get higher altitude flights back to me when flying at home. I think I need to suspend it farther from the chute to give the swing a longer moment arm. That should slow things down a little and give me some better shots. However, I still need to control the spin a little better.

Well I sure hope that when I get to fly with the group next time that you are there Tim because I could try forever and I could never come up with such GREAT shots as you do. They are simply fanatstic. To get you to understand how good they are, for me I was really bummed about not being able to come this time but your pictures brought the event to me and for that,,, I thank you! :D

I also noticed that you have the Aiptek camera in the nose and have it rigged on a sling. Could you post a picture of the way you rigged it. I asked over on TRF how much record time you have with that camera and can you download directly to a PC?

One added note. You son seems to be quite talented. That scratch built Harm is very well done. :)

All in all it looks like you all had fun and from your pictures I can see that there are some very talented people that showed up to fly. All the rockets look superb!!

Thanks. I'll try to take a picture or two of how I rigged the little camera. I did it about as simple as it could be done. If I forget, drop me a PM to remind me. :)

I wasn't able to attend the get together at Shelby Farms last week but I was finally able to launch a few today here at home.
I launched 1 small rocket and helped my grandson with the one he built when they came to visit a couple of weeks ago and that was my first in 35 + Years. Today I ventured into the world of reloads and I had a ball.

First was my Squire with a perfect flight to check the wind. (B6-4)

Second was my "Zooch Mercury Redstone" Sent her up on a C6-3 (Dr's Orders) and it was a perfect flight landing about 150 ft in front of us.

Third and fourth was my "Applewhite 7.25" Saucer" It was my first attempt at reloads and I guess I did it right because both motors worked, I tried a F12-J and D15-T. Both were impressive. I did have one Copperhead misfire on the first try but I put another in and all went as planned after that.

Next and the final rocket for the day was my Canadian Arrow V2.. I used an Aerotech SU E15-4W. This was more than I could hope for. The flight went,,,well "Straight as an Arrow" and came down about 200 feet in front of us. Nice motor for this rocket but it did eject the motor. I will have to remedy that before I use my reloads with it.
Next time I'll try the clusters. There wasn't enough time today. :(

It was a great day!!! :D
.
Heres the video of the V2 launch. I will have more of the other's and pictures later.
