Quasar: Chrome, white and gray!!

I have collected all three versions of the ESTES Quasar... the original chrome, clipped fin version, the white plastic version, and finally the gray version. Does anyone know when this model transitioned to gray plastic and then white?

I know that I picked up my gray version as part of a Citation starter set, soi I am guessing the transition was chrome to grey to white.
