Can you imagine someone with a Jersey accent in the South? Ya'll, want some coffeeeee.

What other state can you refer to as Jersey and everyone knows where you are from, for example, you can't just say York for New York and ceretainly not Mexico for New Mexico.

I will be going to Smyrna SC, whcih is 1 hour south of Charlotte, in York County also near Rock Hill.

Orangeburg is about 1 1/2 hours away, I've been through there last October on my way to Myrtle Beach.

I would like to join up with a club in the area, I have plenty of rocketry stuff coming along with me.

I will be driving north in July for NARAM 50, I am also about 4 hours away from Semroc, which I have visited last year. Carl, Sheryl and Bruce extended their hospitality to me and Diana.

I will be heading south around the 27th of June.

When I get set up, you can PM me with directions and club events, I will also have a new email address as well.

As I had mentioned previously, anyone wanting the catalog offer, please get them in now, before the move, just PM me.

I want to thank everyone for your well wishes, and, I hope to meet those of you who will be attending NARAM.

I have a few surprises that I will be laucnhing and a couple of presentations as well, either at the picnic or the Imagination Celebration.

Also, "Bacon Bit" the flying pig will be taking to the air on it's maiden flight, that should be interesting. We might end up with scrambled eggs???

Diana has property for sale, 5 acres in a wooded section, cheap taxes, you can build a house and be all set, only 4 hours from Semroc .

I have so much rocketry stuff to move, the mover will wonder what is going on, Oh well ya'll.

If someones says they're from Joisey everyone knows where they're from but if they say Jersey a large number of people will think of an island off the coast of Normandy.

Oh, and how will you deal with the smell? :p

I know - just kidding.

Gee, that's gotta be way south of Camden, right? :D

Ain't it down past Philly or something?

I went down to Redondo Beach once; isn't that near where you are going?

By "smell," I meant, how are you going to get used to the non-chemical smell of the air? :p

Geez, I hear that they got air down there in SC that you can't even see! I mean, how are you supposed to know what kind of day it is when you can't even see what color the air is? :D

Snakes?!? Did you say snakes?!? As in, not the plumbing kind?

Mark \\.

P.S. Can I have your snowblower? (Kidding...kidding...)

If you live in Jersey , you can live anywhere, no more refineries, traffic, pollution, concrete roadways, stink, smell (garbage) high taxes, need I go on and on?

Where I am going, the populatiojn is only 59. They do have their own post office and fire dept.

Lot's of snakes, and, not the ones you put down the drain. Black snakes and copperheads are the norm. And, when you go to Lowes, you don't buy lumber but snake repellant and fire ant killer.

This isn't the best time to move though, I have rockdtry stuff in many phases of completion and many Golden Scout projects going as well.

I'm trying to upgrade my flying pig, putting a 24mm motor mount in it, it's flying at NARAM , bacon grease and all.

Ya'll know what I'm talking about???

Congrats Ken! Just think you won't have to deal with all the snow December-March. That means many more launches per year. :)

I was in PA for awhile, and, at the time, during one season we had 17 storms totally 77 inches of snow total.

Mark, I do have a large snowblower, 26" cut 8 HP, I should do what I saw in Florida one time, someone put a snow shovel out front and printed on the shovel was the following message , "Thank God I don't have to shovel snow anymore".

Unfortunatley, where I am going there is all woods, only a very small field to fly rockets, can only handle a "A".

I have a lot of "D" power stuff and many clustered ones as well.

Definitely would love to see you at a ROCC (http://www.rocketrycarolina.org) launch. There are a great bunch of guys there. Nice combination of NAR and Tripoli and a great mix of LPR, MPR and HPR. We usually launch the 3rd weekend of the month with the exception of a few summer months because of crops. Launches are both days Sat,Sun. and are all sport. Great winter launches - At February's launch we had over 240 launches!

Our website is here http://rocketrycarolina.org
and we have a very active forum at http://ourplanet.ning.com/group/rocc

Why not move to the Houston area?! We got at least three NAR Sections, four Regional
meet annually, at least three sport launches monthly, several modroc vendors in the area,
NASA down the road, etc., etc. Plus, the cost of living here is lower than most places in the
USA.

Anyhow, good luck on your move.

I gotta visit these places sometime, so that I can see what an NAR Section that has more than 12 members in it looks like.

Let me tell you, it's going to be a project to move to South Carolina, 750 miles away. I have so much rocketry stuff, that it fills a 10 X 20 X 8 storage garage.

My significant other ,Diana, is there, after the loss of my former significant other of 13 1/2 years to conjestive heart failure at 52. It was the second anniversary on May 17th.

I'm looking forward to meeting Leo, who will onoly be an hour away, show him my "arsenal" and all that.

For those of your going to NARAM, you will be able to meet Diana and I there. Diana is a first time rocketeer, and, is very excited with going to NARAM, built her first rocket last year, and, just built her scout recently.

We both have a few "surprises" up our sleeves for NARAM, we both have been working very hard on some special items to present there.

As I have mentioned before, one of my scaled up Scouts will be up for auctions, as well as mint catalogs and NASA moon landing posters.

For those who have clubs and luanches in the Smyran SC area, I would like to attend as well.
I will be leaving GSSS in NJ, and looking for more clubs to get involved with.

Well, I'm not a European and that's always the first thing I think of when I hear Jersey. I think it's because the "New" this and that naming convention was drilled into me by my high school World History teacher.

And, you can go "Down the Shore" also.

And as [pointed out previously, North Jersey and South Jersey. Trenton, the state capital being the dividing line.

Or, you can go to the Stone Pony in Asbury Park and meet the "Boss", Bruce Springstein.

Or, Hoboken that's were Frank Sinatra was from or Buzz Aldrin from Montclair.

We have the Parkway and Turnpike, Route 80 and Route 78 among others.

Atlantic City with the Casino's, salt water taffy or Wildwood, Wildfood c?rest and North Wildwodd and Cape May. "Down The Shore".

The George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee.

And Newark Airport, now, the Newark /Liberty International Airport. With it's normal 3 hour flight delays getting into it.

And as I had mentioned previously, Weird NJ magazine www.weirdnj.com

Having been in the hobby for 44 year now, you just can't imagine how much rocketry stuff you have accumilated over those years, unt6il you MOVE.

Just start packing everything up, and, it's never ending. Consolidation is the key, until it gets to your new location, Oh boy !!!

I can't even imagine the mountain of stuff that you've got. I have only been back in the hobby for 5 years, and after having to start over from square one, I can't even believe how much stuff that I've accumulated in that short amount of time. What you have to sort through and pack up must be mind-boggling. :D

How many moving vans are you going to need to rent just for the rocket stuff that you do decide to take with you to SC? ;)

Well Ken, as you pass by my location, er, place, you could always "drop off' some of the rocketry "stuff." I'm sure I could make room for it. :D

Heh, heh, I'm down the shore, right by Atlantic City.

Maybe I should stop in At6lantic city and try the Casino's, after payiong for the mover, I will need it.

The rocketry stuff alon will take a truck, 10 X 26 X 8. I just got done packing, I had started the project a couple of month ago in my storage garage, my shed and basement.

You know the stuff you couldn't find way back when, but, when you move, it suddenly shows up.......Oh my. so that's where it went.......headache time!!!

I'm getting a local moving company who knows the family. I had put out requests for movers, and got about 30 emails plus numerous calls.

Some, I wouldn't trust if I had an armed guard. Once they load your stuff.....bye,bye!!!!

Advise for anyone planning on moving, first, don't go by the weight, but, by the volume, have an onsite appraiser. Many movers will "low ball" you on the cost, and, at the end of the trip, the price is usually doubled .

Don't be fast talked into anything, especially when they say that they have a truck going in that direction all of the time, or, they have been in the business forever.

Check with the BBB and the DOT to see what their record is.

And most important, read and get a contract.

The move is finally complete.....

The mover came on Friday and loaded up, a 26 foot truck, we took off on Saturday at 6:45 am and arrived 14 hours later.

between the many rain showers, the cops everywehre, stopping everyone, constant fueling, aveeraging $4.00 per gallon, and, a 6589 mile tripo.

Didn't do too bad with a 1997 Geo Tracker, getting between 41 and 43 mpg.

So must stuff, trying to sort it all out and get things ready for NARAM.

I still have catalog packages availaable if you are interested, just PM me for details.
