I have a question about the Merc Redstones by Estes, specifically the "Mercury Redstone #1921" and "Liberty Bell 7 #2167". Are they the same size body tubes and such? I know they are a bit off size wise, but was that a typo, are they the same size, etc? Can the capsules be "swapped" between body tubes?

Thanks for your input!

Michael, I never noticed the "typo" on the #2167 kit packaging before I read your post, good eye! But to answer your question, yes, both kits utilize the same size body tube and the only difference between the Mercury capsules is the #1921 is molded in red plastic and the #2167 is molded in white plastic.

Thanks for the reply!
When they are built up, do they stand the same height?

Also, did any of the boosters actually have the "MR7" lettering added to them, or was this just an Estes thing? I've been looking on the web at pics but I can not find any good/clear ones. I noticed both the estes kits have the MR7 on it.

Thanks again!

P.S. As I was posting this Bob H posted a reply with some really cool wraps. Liberty Bell 7 has a MR8 designation. Looks like estes goofed a bit......

The stacked and coupled tubes from the #2167 actually measure 3/16" shorter than that of the #1921.
