I have some extra plate laying around and felt like cutting out some fins today. I’ll post a few photos of the fins I cut out. I still need to edge the leading and trailing edges. If your interested shoot me a e-mail at mickkelly25@comcast.net.
The dimensions are:
Root Length = 11.125“
Semi-span = 3.97”
Sweep angle = 60°
Tip cord length = 2.0”
Thickness = 0.10”
4x4 carbon twill 6k tow 12x12 pick count
Teflon coated glass peel ply surface finish
Fin weight 37.5 grams per fin
This plate was vacuumed down to at 15” Hg
Room temperature cure with a post cure schedule of 110°F 1 hour, 130°F 1 hour, 150 1 hour, 170°F 2 hours, 170°F 1 hour, 150°F 1 hour, 130°F 1 hour, 110°F 1 hour, then allowed to cool to room temp.
Aeropoxy PR2032 / PH3665 --- Modified resin matrices included ½ tsp milled glass and ½ tsp fumed silica per 127 gram resin hardener mix.
