Before anyone goes sending money to this person, I want you all to take a look at this link first:

http://home.comcast.net/~mich24thms/Scam.html

I've just discovered that "rocketman" who posted this ad and the person in the above link are one in the same.

Caveat Emptor!

Of course if you have money to give away, just send the money to me. Whereas you'll here nothing after sending money to the person "selling" these kits, I'll at least gladly get back to you and tell you how I'm spending your hard earned money. ;)

We need more careful screening. That's two douchebags this month. Next thing you know "HE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED" will show up and turn this place into another little RMR.
Good catch, Scott. I was suspicious, but only because his message had so obviously been cut and pasted from another posting. I agree. We should "cavet his eruptor". (Brady Bunch reference, for all of you who might be interested. ;) :o )

I didn't think anything of it at first. I obviously JUMPED on the chance to own a K-29 1b for $90. ;) I emailed him through the forum shortly after he posted the ad last night. When I got his reply today I thought his email address looked familiar.

Well, rocketman, what do you have to say for yourself?

I seriously would expect an answer from you before you get any of my money.

Better yet, send me the item and I will honestly send you the cash.

BTW, thanks, guys.

Somehow I knew a Mercury Atlas for $50 was way too good to be true!

One of the other "tricks" this seller used on ROL was selling the same item more than once. Here's proof of that trying to occur with his current ad. Myself and Kurt Schachner emailed the seller around the same time, interested in buying his K-29 1b for $90. (Who wouldn't want a K-29 for $90?!?) I'm attaching emails the seller sent to me and to Kurt. Hmmm, not sure how one sells the same item twice, unless he invented some type of cloning machine. ;)

Here is the message to me. Note he has an addition problem as well. heh

Sure would be tragic if a bunch of "Bill Me Later" subscriptions were sent to this address. Or even requests for NAMBLA info. (Although they'd probably say "But we just sent you a packet last week!")

Yes the infamous criminal and con artist himself Douglas Parks owner of one of the most criminal rocket sites in the western world Rebar Rocketry.

C'mon Mike, aren't you exagerating a bit?

No, wait, I forgot... you're right!

And don't forget Rebar part 2, with wife Suzy in the starring role. Doug was best supporting actor in that one, with Ebay and Paypal providing special effects.

Actually I shouldn't be making fun. Some of you participating here are probably among those who got ripped off, like me.

Wow, that's interesting. Being that he was supposedly based in MS, I was actually entertaining the idea of ordering from ReBar right before Katrina. I remember visiting his website just after Katrina and thinking it was very odd his "store" flooded in Meridian. (Which is about 200 miles from he coast) Looks like the hurricane may have saved me some money.
