Hello. Do you have an Estes purple 18 inch parachute? I think it was in the late 1980s they made these. I had one, but it got melted a bit, and I'd like to have another one so I can make a girly rocket as a present for my niece. If you have one of these, whether it is still in the package, or already built but not damaged, I'd be willing to trade some other items or money for it. Thanks! Nathan

Nathan, can you fill in the description a bit more? Was it solid purple, or was it striped with alternating white and purple sections?

It has to be the alternating one.
In the late 80's they offered purple and red in addition to the orange striped chutes.
It seemed to be random what you got in mid to late 80's kits.

That's right. It has white background. It has a black center with the Estes logo. Purple bands or stripes radiating out from the center. Just like the typical Estes chute from that period, except purple instead of orange or red. I've seen yellow ones and green ones too.

Sorry, Nathan. I could have sworn I had a purple striped one here somewhere, size unknown, but darned if I can find it. Lots of red striped ones. If I come across one I'll let you know. Was that purple striped 'chute one of the pre-built ones?

Nathan, I just checked my "chute stash" and I have eight (8) of the purple 18" chutes.

PM me.

I'm not positive (I'll have to look when I get home from work) but I'm pretty sure my Big Daddy came with a purple and white chute.
