I'm, as I said in another thread in another sub-forum here, trying to re-create some of the rockets that I flew as a kid. One of these is the Black Widow. ON the booster stage the body tube doubles as the engine mount, it's not clean looking but there it is. As such the engine hook is visible on the outside of the tube and is held close to the tube in place by a small thin mylar ring that you, after installing, have to notch the fin to fit over. I can't find that mylar ring anywhere. I suppose I could cut something and glue it in it's place but that takes the fun out of cloning these birds in the first place.

Any ideas?.....

Steve

The Estes Sustainable, Crossbow SST sold at Walmart has this. You could buy this kit, and kit bash it to what you want.

Here is a build thread
http://www.rocketryforum.com/showpost.php?p=22216&postcount=1

You can barely see it in the second picture, in the plastic bag, with the yellow coupler.

Semroc sells the mylar rings. Contact them at www.semroc.com.

Boy, I scoured their site and couldn't find them. I guess I'll e-mail them and ask where they are since I can't find them.

Thanks
Steve

Carl, you should add the word Mylar to the description on the site. Mylar Retaining Rings.

Well, I figured that they could still be bought SOMEWHERE and Semroc WAS my first thought. Now I have to come up with enough other stuff for a minimum order......like that's very tough. LOL :D
THANKS SO MUCH

We are over 1900 unique parts online now, so many are getting lost in the crowd.

I am trying to make room for ST-2, ST-4, ST-27 (2.70" OD), and BT-19 (.70" OD when they arrive.

Isn't ST-4 Saturn V escape tower tube?

One way to do this parts issue is to make a second parallel parts page that organizes the existing links and parts in a different default viewing pattern (or two).

I strongly recommend outline format.

JerryST-2 (.26" OD) is 1/100 scale escape tower.
ST-4 is for FAI 10mm engine tubes
ST-27 is for 1/100 scale Saturn 1B lower ring
BT-19 is for 1/100 scale Saturn 1B tanks

The real problem is I release new parts and don't update the pages. I am working on pages to change content based on the database. The Fin (http://www.semroc.com/Store/products/finsel.asp) and Decal (http://www.semroc.com/Store/products/decalsel.asp) pages work that way now.

All this Saturn V talk has me itchin' to build one. Any word on the upcoming release??? I've been saving my gift certificates from Christmas...however, they are burning a hole in my pocket.

I believe it's the ST-2 tube.
