Craig,

Forgive my ignorance, but how does one classify a rocket as a "Sounder", as opposed to a simple "Sport" rocket. Does the body tube length determine the classification? Meaning, a payload tube can be incorporated without affecting the CG too much?

All of the "Schoolyard Sounders" use 13mm engines exclusively. The idea was to develop a series of rockets that were flyable in smaller schoolyards without the risk of having them drift away.

The "sounder" part of the name comes from the older nomenclature of "Sounding Rockets".
