Hi Gang,

I have been collecting model rocket motors for a few years now, and I need only two to complete my collection of AVI motors. A am looking for the following two motors:

1/8A 8.75mm x 12mm motor

and

1/4A 8.75 x 25mm motor

any delay would be fine.

I know these are not exactly easy to come by, but they are the last two I need, so even if you have any leads on someone who has one of these, please refer me.

I would be interested in purchasing, or trading for other vintage motors.

Thanks !!!!!

Phred,
I know it's not specifically what you are looking for but I have an AVI 8.75mm 1/2A 1.5-5 that I'm willing to trade for something interesting....if you are interested....I of course know how rare these are, so I'd want something equally as rare if for a 1 to 1 trade.

Thanks for the offer. I agree how rare this is, as it took me quite a wheil to find the 1/2A that I have.... I expect the 1/4A and the 1/8A to be harder to locate.

These are neat little motors, huh?

Here is a picd of some of my AVI motors: The 1/2A is at the top

I have one of the B3 motors and one of the D6.1 motors also.
I do not have an AVI E or F in my collection; I have only seen exactly one AVI "F" in person, and have never physically seen an "E"; were these extremely limited production ?
When were the E's and F's produced ? Mid to late 70's ?

These motors were made in the mid 1970's. My D6.1 is dated 1977, but the Es and F dates are illegible. I believe that they were extremely limited production, as they were all made on one machine... the old MPC machine. I believe that AVI went down in flames in 1978 or so.

But that is another story....

Myke Bergenske, the owner of AVI, still lives here in WI, just outside of Madison.

I remember those .....

Was it AVI that used to have the newspaper for a catalog or am I thinking of someone else. I remember reading through a couple of those catalogs back when I was in a high school rocket club in the 70's.

I found it there with the publications and downloaded it. That's the one I remember.
