I'm just about done with the repair/repaint of my rocket! This will be a display as shown in these pics. I used modeling clay to add some weight to the base and stuffed an old Master lock into the Lem adapter/service module area which added almost a pound to the weight on top. It feels real solid! I'm going to paint the black this week and hope to have pics of the finished project soon after that. Check here for pics of the restoration from the start: http://forums.rocketshoppe.com/showthread.php?t=826 Cheers! :D

GREAT display idea! I've been trying to figure out how to keep mine visible yet in an area that it won't get damaged. Corner shelf seems the way to go...... :D

NAR 53455Hey Don,

BTW, if you ever launched it, how did that fly with a 29mm? Where's your CG located and what type engine did you use? I'm beginning a build soon on an Estes #2001, and have been thinking about the 29mm mount myself.

My wife wasn't too thrilled about me confiscating her antique shelf, but she didn't know what to do with it, so I showed her. hahah! Thanks for the nice comments. :D

Strange that you should ask......Mine weighed in at 15.1 ounces so I opted for the Econojet F20-4W. Had to add a spacer in the motor mount to accomadate the shorter 29mm motor. Plan on flying it tomorrow (oops, after 12 so I guess that makes it today) so I'll give you a launch report (and hopefully some pictures). CG is about 13" from rear of rocket. I'm using two 36" military style "drogue chute" parachutes for recovery. Might be overkill for the upper section, but I'd sure hate to bust the tower on a rough recovery.
