I flew my mars lander clone to day for the first time! It only took me 3 1/2 years to build. The wind was about 5mph with gusts to about 10mph, It flew great on a B6-2 up to about 100ft followed by a slide back and a chute at about 80 ft and a 4 point landing about 30 ft from the pad.

Nice report and pics! That "slide back" you mentioned is the same my vintage Estes ML did
in May 2004 when flown with a B4-2.

Thanks,

I'm surprised that the lander is stable enough to slide back. Next I need to build the Semroc Lander I have, I learned a lot building this one and hope it takes less time :) .

This was my holy grail kit. I never had the money or skill to buy/build it when I was growing up so it was a great day to finally fly it, even more so to fly it with my 15 year old son.
