Here's part II to the advanced large post-Saturn vehicle study... this one outlining a little more about the behemoth post Saturn vehicles proposed in the early 60's...

What's not to like about a Flourine-oxidized 150 foot diameter 250 foot tall SSTO?? How about 460 foot tall gigantic two stage reusable boosters?? They're all here!

Enjoy! OL JR

Pic one is the "class I" post-Saturn vehicle, using existing 'off the shelf' propulsion-- in this case EIGHTEEN F-1 engines on the first stage, and three 1 m lb thrust LH2 burning M-1 engines on the second stage...

Pic two is the baseline "class II" vehicle, again using 18 first stage engines and a pair of M-1 upper stage engines... this time the vehicle has a recoverable first stage...

Pic three is the baseline "class III" vehicle-- operable as either an SSTO or with an expendable (shooting for recoverable later on) second stage. The diameter of this one gets WAY fat but the height comes down remarkably...

That's it for this one! Details on height/diameter in the summary I posted... Later! OL JR
