Monday, September 26th, 6:30 pm.
Holy Family Parish
4849 N Wildwood ave.
Whitefish Bay, WI.

The meeting starts at 6:30 pm. We should be there early to set up.
Jerome B. needs to supply the club MITI box. He has been using it for some outreach work he has been doing.
The scouts are going to be building the rockets and then attending our next launch at the sod farm.

Need help, who's in...

Thanks Dan,
They bought two 12 packs of some rocket or another.
I can't get a straight answer.
Plus to make up for not buying in plenty of time to get
all the same rockets for all the scouts they bought a mix mash of additional
kits. This will be fun.

Apparently they were unaware of the fantastic clearance sale their own organization had in spring. They could've stocked up for years on bulk kits and bulk motor packs. I wonder if any of the scout stores around town still have any of that stuff left in stock?

Paul Smith and Dan Krause helped me with the cub scouts.
We built UpAerospace kits, Gnomes, vikings, and assorted other kits.
The club MITI box came to good use again.
Thanks for the help!

Most of the boys will be at the launch this weekend.
The ones who cannot be there this weekend were invited to come to any future launch.

So how did the launch go?
How many scouts showed up?

I was wondering the same - Did the launch go well and did the kids enjoy themselves?

Youth groups (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, High School classes, College groups) all are a lot of fun when they visit. They always have so much energy and enthusiasm - pity we can never seem to encourage any of them to stay for more than that one launch. But in the seven/eight years I've been involved with Launch Crue, We've not been able to get but one kid to make a return visit, and he never came back after that. My fear is that our club is more than forty miles from a large city, and it's just too far for kids to travel without a parent. That means two people who have to fit our club into increasingly busy schedules. And, unfortunately, rocketry tends to lose out against activities such as Soccer, Little League, Church (this is a VERY religious area) and even video games. And, of course, the group (Cubs, Scouts, 4H, whatever) that brought them here has moved on to another project, so that (pine car, the next merit badge, animal husbandry, etc) has become the new focus so rocketry is quickly forgotten.

Wish I had an answer for allo f our sakes, but, unfortunately, I don't. :(

I was there for barely an hour, but it was non-stop flying. John, Dan, and Jerome were very busy tending to the scouts (and their parents), I'm not sure if they even did any flying of their own - other than Jerome, that is. I saw a couple of his zany haloweenie rockets fly, always good fun!
