John Pursley
Folks,
This was just posted over on "The Other Rocket Forum": "Just got the word that John Pursley was injured in a motorcycle-car accident this morning. It was serious enough that he was immediately transported from the Fort Worth area to Methodist Hospital in Dallas for the best possible care for pretty serious injury. John is roommates with my best friend Richard Ng, who is now en route to Methodist Hospital to see how he is. Will update when possible. Please keep John in your thoughts and prayers." |
Bob,
Really sorry to hear this, but thanks for letting us know. John is such an incredibly special member our our community. Please keep us updated, and pass along best wishes from all of us. Steve |
Yes, truly sorry to hear this. I was just going to post a 'new' ebay listing I noticed this morning that John is offering and that is a 1/100 scale 3D printed Saturn 1b. I have not noticed it before so I think it must be a fairly new offering of his.

So sorry to hear this.
Hoping for a speedy and complete recovery. #1 reason why I don't own a street motorcycle- 80% of all accidents are caused by automobile operators not paying attention. |

The other 20% is from having the most fun a person could have with his clothes on! Get well soon, John, from a fellow rider. |
I do own motocross-type 2-stroke dirt bikes, which I do enjoy. Suzuki RM250's.
I have ridden several HOT street bikes; A Suzuki Hayabusa, A Yamaha R1, and an absolutely WICKED turbocharged Hayabusa. Those are MY kind of street bikes. If I ever own one it would be a Hayabusa. Would be WAYYY TOO MUCH FUN. I have zero interest in "cruiser" type (LAME-O) bikes and absolutely DESPISE clatter-box odd-fire shake-like-paint-mixer POS V-Twin SLOW-PIG heavy vastly-overpriced Hardly-Movingsen ANYTHING. Those belong in the same place as every junk-heap boring Trash-ota. Right off a Wile E Coyote CLIFF. |
I thought John lived in the Houston area? When did he move to Ft. Worthless?
|
Be strong, John!

I owned several motorcycles over the years - but the Seattle weather is not conducive to enjoyable riding too much of the time so I've ended up selling them again. I've sometimes toyed with the idea of getting one of those hot sports bikes - you know, the ones that have lots of cylinders and valves and spin to well over 10 grand (and sound glorious). But I figure if I did I'd probably kill myself on it in short order :( Get well soon John - we need you in the hobby. |
