R/C Vulcan Bomber rocket glider
I designed this on Thurs evening, flew Friday, video from today, based on some 2.6" tubing I had and a pnc-80BB nose cone that was pretty close to profile for a vulcan, wing is 32" span, 9mm depron, tail is 6mm depron as is the cockpit and motor details. I trimmed the rear of the tube to represent the stinger on the Vulcan, of course you can't really get the shape right without doing a builtup fuse and wing with the massive thick root, but I think it looks the part close enough. Length is 28", weight ready to fly wtih 24mm composite rocket motor is 10.2 oz, wing loading on glide is 5 oz/sq foot, so it's a floater. It's my new favorite.

Always a favorite of mine. It used to come to the CNE Airshow in Toronto. IIRC it saw action in the Falklands. That was a nice glide at over a minute. Was it ever painted in the scheme you're showing with yours?

Yes early versions were white with the black radome...

Long beautiful glide on that one!

No surprise that one glides well.
Looks a LOT like a larger-wingspan Astron Skydart. |
