Enerjet Nike Smoke on ebay.
|
That's cool. $650 is about 10X more than I'd be willing to pay for it. The new Estes Nike Smoke nose cone could probably be modified to have a "smoker system." I wouldn't put a 29mm mount in it. For the right someone there's no substitute for the real thing.

Newbie question
What is a "Smoking Nose Cone" ?
|
That guy is smoking some really bad crack with that price.
Even if it was still shrink-wrapped I'd be surprised to see it go for more than $400. I sold a bagged, complete, but opened one about 2 years ago for $265. I paid less than 30% of that 10 years prior. I haven't ever seen a boxed shrink-wrapped Enerjet Athena go for $650 let alone a Nike Smoke. The ONLY difference in this kit and the plain Centuri one are the parts for the "working smoker" nose, 29mm mount, and Silk hemisphere parachute. All of those can be easily added to the Centuri kit. |

My first thought was that maybe some of the tracking smoke was ported forward out the nose tip, but my next thought was that would require some sort of special motor case - again, a safety code issue. Hopefully, someone here has had one of these and will tell us how it worked :) Doug . |

Nike Smoke
I read the last page of the instructions, and "Parachute Powder" is just Talc, that will sorta look like smoke, but will be so light it won't really show up at very high flight or on a cloudy day. I guess just a gimmick to be like the real Nike Smoke. I also thought it had a 2nd port for the engine trailing smoke or you actually put in a "Smoke Bomb" from a firework store.
Thanks for the info. |

Yeah.... nice idea but kind of lame. That, and the titanium tetrachloride was kind of hard on the test market. |
