The Boyce Aerospace Hobbies 1/46th Scale Gemini Titan Builders Kit recreates America's third manned space system. The Gemini Titan mated the two astronaut Gemini capsule with the larger Titan two stage booster. The Gemini Titan launch system was instrumental in America's race to a moon landing as we used it to learn orbital rendezvous, docking, space walking and the effects of long term space flight on humans. Our Gemini Titan model showcases incredibly detailed parts such as the cluster motor mount with rear tank bulkhead, engine truss work, turbo-pump detail and screw on engine bell motor retainers. This Builders Kit also includes a detailed interstage with visible first state upper tank dome. There is a bayonet catch between the first and second stage and the second stage boasts display model details. The Boyce Aerospace Gemini Titan Builders Kit is comprised of 35 high-quality 3D-printed parts and 4 clip on clear laser cut fins for flight. Your Builders kit requires additional parts, so be sure to check your included instructions for a full list. Give your model the finishing touch with impressive 3-page full body wrap vinyl decals.

I ordered mine today! Can't wait!

Hope to order mine tomorrow:)

Also, I would think that the new
Estes Super C motors, C5-3 would also work with this kit?

Looks like a real good'n !
I would think the C5-3 would work great. Each is rated to lift 8oz, so 2x should be plenty.

I was looking at the kit on my phone last night and wondered what that beast is going to weigh. It's a BT-80 sized kit with lots of extra detail. I sure hope the C5-3 lofts it sufficiently!

Boyce's website says 10.3 oz. Mine will probably be a little heavier since I tend to build heavy just about everything (unless it's a glider.)

10.3oz they say

ghrocketman 02-14-2020 12:09 PM

I would think as long as it weighs under 16oz, 2xC5-3 would be ok.
2 Aerotech full 20 n-sec D10s or D24s would be even better but far more costly.
Don't even think about using lame-o C6-3s.

I would probably lean toward the Aerotech D24s due to blue thunder propellant easily igniting in a cluster. I don't think I would want to attempt 2xD10 as White Lightning has more of a chance of a chuff, which is really lousy in clusters.

Due to the cost of the kit, the effort we put into our space program scale models, and the limited recovery area, a pair of C5's sound perfect. Twin 30" chutes and rocket eating trees spell disaster with greater altitudes.

I'm guessing based on the C12 numbers that the C5's might get 275-300'. I'd like to see it on a pair of real B14's for those tiny school yards and little league fields. Bill could probably do a flight on his B6-4 field with 'em. The real GT had a quick liftoff compared to the other manned launch vehicles...scale realism. lol

At that weight I'm not sure it needs that much canopy for recovery. I'm guessing a pair of 24" parachutes would be enough--but I haven't crunched any numbers yet.

I hope the 3D printed parts are a little smoother than the Boyce Nike Ajax parts! I started a build thread on the Ajax late last year and I'm STILL trying to get the parts sanded smooth.
