Oh how I wish I had done a tad more research on the manufacturer before I committed to purchasing a V1 kit !

Apart from the over long delivery time (almost 5 weeks), the almost total lack of communication between the vendor and myself concerning dispatch and delivery dates, the inability to accept foreign currency (ie Paypal or Visa) thus incurring bank fees for the transaction, the quality of the 'kit' and 'instructions' leave a lot to be desired, what with vague instructions (in german) missing parts (2) NO die or laser cut parts just a sheet of balsa and a hint at the shape of parts to cut and NO decals or specific positional details of markings.
This is definitely not a kit for inexperienced rocketeers.

I also wanted to build a V2 but after this purchase, I opted for the Estes variety and can't begin to describe the difference in quality and value between the two.

As a result I'm not sorry to say that Noris Raketen are no longer on either my browse or purchase list and Estes, Apogee or Rocketarium will be my chosen suppliers from now on !

Sounds like you may have been just as well off to build completely from scratch. From the looks of a finished kit, it looks like I could build one with a few paper transitions and a generic balsa cone. Can you post a pic of the kit parts?

Apogee usually has a few Noris Raketen kits. They're out of stock now, but you can still read their warnings about how different the kits are. They went so far as to rewrite the instructions in English. I do hope they get more and adapt them for the American market. It's nice to have foreign rockets to balance out a collection.

I noticed that Noris has a Soyuz kit. Does any other manufacturer make one? My skill level isn’t up to that. I know that Dr. Zooch had one, but I was looking for something larger in size..

The Noris Vostok or Soyuz?

Comrade, don't do it. Building from scratch using Peter Alway's Art of Scale Rocketry plan is not only easier, but will result in a better looking model. I did a build thread on this forum, look it up using the search function.

And yes, I tried to build the Noris Soyuz and struggled mightily with the vacuformed parts. After many Words of Power, I put it aside for the day when my heirs and devisees decide what to do with it.

Agreed. Most highly detailed and accurate scale V-2 on the market. I plan to modify mine for launching.
