Absolutely NEVER use hardware-store Lacquer thinner.
That stuff always contains Methanol and WILL ruin butyrate and nitrate dopes.
Most automotive lacquer thinner (DuPont, PPG, Nason) can be used as it does not usually contain methanol, but always check the label.
When in doubt, WHACK the GAS and DITCH the brake !!!
