This thing came out in the 70's, but I only recently learned of its underpinnings - its drive train came out of the Cadillac El Dorado - it had a big block engine with front wheel drive.
While that should provide more than ample power, I can't help wonder about possible traction issues, especially if someone is towing a boat, which is common in the camping crowd. Furthermore, you gotta wonder about the durability of half shaft axles versus a traditional, solid rear axle housing.
That said, GM seemed to have a production decent run making these.
