Background Information brief: X-kit.
The Astron Constellation was designed by Gene Street, Chief Illustrator for Estes Industries. His drawings and kit illustrations became the standard for the industry. His model rocket design ability was also evident from many of his creations, notably the 1/70 Scale Saturn 1B. Combining a clear payload section with unique fin tips made the Astron Constellation an early hit. The Constellation was introduced as a free kit in 1968 and appeared in the 1969 Catalog as #K-35 with an introductory price of $2.00.
The Semroc ConstellationTM xKitTM is a faithful rendition of the original kit. Laser-cut fins are provided using the original patterns as models. A rubber shock cord is used like the original model. All parts are selected to be as close to the original as possi- ble.
