Vintage Estes Hawkeye Build
Starting on some smaller projects, and the Hawkeye is a small rocket. Simple build, less than one hour. I let the glue dry over night and shot a coat of primer to seal the paper fins. After couple of hours, sanded the primer smooth and finished with Krylon grey. Finished adding the old decals today with no issues.

Wow, does the back of the bag say 1600' on a C? I always thought this was a mini engine bird.

Beautiful build!
I've seen it in an online catalog, but didn't realize it was so small, or that it had "fiber" cardstock fins. No chute or streamer? I guess it's just nose-blow recovery. It would be a great design for a BT-50 or BT-55 upscale.

Bill-
That's a recommendation for C size flying site dimensions. The front of the card shows it takes mini-engines of 1/A and A size.

Scale for a minimum diameter (20mm) Quest D5. It might get to 1600 ft or it might burn a hole in the side of the rocket.

That OOP oddball 20mm Quest D5 was only slightly more useful than a 27mm FSI F7 smoke-generator.
Almost zero thrust. .
