My friends and I used to make those as kids! We'd run them on a cord stretched between basketball posts.

I also put some rockets on a streetluge.

We taped one to a Hot Wheel or Matchbox once. Had a track built for it and everything. It disassembled itself in the first 30 feet.

I tried to make a rocket power model toboggan.

It got as far as the first mound in the snow and then went airborne.

I then tried putting "spoilers" on it for downward pressure.

Same result.

I would say I got 20 mph boost at most from about 12 D rockets ignited while going down hill on a streetluge.
