And now for something completely different.....
Today the high temps in the Cincinnati area were well into the 60's, kinda rainy and overcast, but not terribly windy. We have launches scheduled for Saturday and Sunday this weekend, with Sunday being the only day I can possibly go. Sunday's high temp? 27!
I spent all this past weekend fixing hangar rash and prepping first flight birds, (This involves making sure a launch lug exists and the motor mount is glued in. Neither is a given with me.) but I don't think I'm man enough to stand outside in 27 degree temps anymore.

It was 76 yesterday when I got off work. I came in to work this morning with the temp at 66 degrees, probably the low for the night. I think it's gonna be a bumpy afternoon.

Yeah, this weather really sucks. High today suppose to be 74. Severe weather. I can stand the rain and wind but these cold temperatures are really getting to me.

Mobile, Alabama: 68 degrees @ 9:00 AM, but dense fog. We're expecting rain sometime today. Winds are maybe 5-8 from the south.

Boo-freakin'-Hoo.....
Temps in the 60's and 70's....really rough ! We are having a winter heat-wave in Mid-Michigan here with high 40's, low 50's for a couple of days....tomorrow we are back to reality with high 20's/low 30's and a nasty windy mix of freezing rain, sleet, and wet snow.

The 60's and 70's you are scoffing at are being followed by a cold front that's dropping temps over 40 degrees. Temps were in the mid 60's this morning here. At the same lattitude right behind the front, temps were in the 30's. A little farther west at the same lattitude and the temps were in the teens this morning. What it means is potential large hail, hard straight line winds, and a good possibility of tornadoes later tonight followed by temps in the 20's tomorrow night. So boo-hoo at your puny little 20's and 30's with a little slushy stuff. (no offense intended or taken...just having fun) I'll delete the file attachment after while since it's not rocket related. I don't have a way to access photobucket right now. Check out the 40 degree drop straight west of Memphis and another 10 degrees not much farther west! |

Brings back memories
Back home in Ohio, we had a special name for mobile home parks...
We called 'em "Tornado Chow". --- From a former mobile home owner (don't you dare call my house a trailer!)

The Memphis area boys are getting hammered right now. There's already been several tornadoes visually sighted by officials. Hang on down there Don, Dave and the rest of you guys.

Had quite the nerve racking drive home today. I've always loved a good thunderstorm but today I was actually frightened somewhat. I was about 5 to 10 minutes behind a tornado that wrecked up Southaven MS pretty good. Never seen golf ball size hail before, it was kinda cool though, it would shatter on the windshield. Winds were blowing like I've never seen before and visibility was truly 0. Home safe now, waiting on round 2, probably around 8 or 9PM. It's headed your way tbzep if it's not already there.
