Default Kodiak Space Launch

Looks like a Space Launch at Kodiak. Full Moon launch at night would be awesome; if we could see it locally.

Rain and sky obscured weather for last couple of months, no change to forecast during launch window. Saturday the 10th is only partly cloudy day.

10th thru 14th NOTAM.

Based on the subject line I thought someone was flying a payload of Chewing Tobacco.

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Default ABL Space Systems RS1 Launch Nov 15, 2022

Looks like there might be a Maiden launch of the RS1 by ABL Space Systems.

Launch window has been off and on since Sep.

Planned launch will be during the short daylight hours of November between 1pm and 430pm.

Kodiak is only 177-miles to the south.

Friends have mentioned seeing shooting stars that just keep going up .

Hoping for a clear night launch, plan to have a blast off outdoor party around my front yard fire ring, when one is scheduled for such a night.

Photos of launch countdown and Kodiak 10-day weather.

I still question launching perfectly good chewing tobacco or bears.

There is nothing perfect or good about chewing tobacco. Bears, on the other hand... The Russians launch bears all the time.

I stand by my statement. Kodiak is PERFECTLY GOOD and tasty CHEWING TOBACCO.
Only Russia would be stupid enough to still use propeller driven aircraft as their primary bomber.
Turd has a radar cross-section of a flying BARN.

So does our B-52. That vertical stab is big as a house, not to mention all the stuff we hang under the wings. They get great gas mileage and the cruising speed is around 450 mph. It's not like our Buff or BONE can outrun anything that shoots at them or gets shot at them.

The "TU" in TU-95 Bear is for TUrd.

The B-1 and the B-52 are a LOT faster. The B-52H vertical stab is a lot smaller than the original B-52.
Who cares about gas mileage as long as in-flight refueling is available ??
They should have kept the Mach-2 plus performance of the B-1A in the B-1B.
Yes, Speed IS everything. That alone makes the F-35 a total turd.

Speed isn't everything or the B-52H wouldn't be getting new engines to keep it in the air for another 50 years. Yes, it would be fun to push the B-1 to mach 2 as originally designed, but with it now toting cruise missiles and stand off smart bombs almost exclusively, there's no need for it. If speed was everything, we'd still have the 1,500+ mph F-14's, F-111's, F-106's and F-104's in service along with the F-15's and would negate the need for the F-22.

The F-22 supercruises above Mach 1 and is Mach 2.2 capable.
A stripped down F-15 can do 2.6 and is capable of 2.2 with a full load.
Yesssss, speed still IS everything.
That also is precisely why the F-35 IS a TOTAL TURD.
