Yes, posted to the ‘eBay silliness’ thread last night. See here: https://www.oldrocketforum.com/show...&page=120&pp=10 ...and check post #1195. Yes, some amazing prices. I got the Coaster catalog out of that bunch since I already had the other two Estes catalogs (thankfully, at no where near the prices those two went for last night!). Earl

Rocket KITS if they are really rare, I can at least understand as those can actually be built and do SOMETHING.
Pages of old paper SHOWING rockets ? I think NOTTTTT.

I’m not going to pay prices as mentioned above for a catalog, and they are not my primary focus of collecting, but I do pick up a catalog here and there.
There is a difference — and it is hard to really state in so many words — between looking at an old catalog scan on-line and holding a real copy in your hands and flipping through the pages. It may not be as dramatic a difference as between looking at a picture of a pretty girl compared to actually holding her hand and/or kissing her, but kinda, sorta, a little bit. Earl

I have many old catalogs from "back in the day" starting with 1967.
I'd rather click online to the page instantly.

I don’t think there are any good scans of old catalogs online, many are hardly readable. They are a good reference but when I look I wish I was holding the real thing. I still have dog eared catalogs from the 70s with my wanted kits circled, nothing beats looking at that!

Really? Have you looked here: https://estesrockets.com/catalogs/ ? Note the 1966 catalog posted there is missing a bunch of pages in the middle. That said, I like having them in my hands and have acquired some of them from eBay, but nothing older than the 1966 (a year before the first one I remember as a kid). I agree generally with Earl....

Yes I just randomly pulled up 1990 for example. There is a heavy pattern of vertical lines throughout. That one is 'readable' so I will take that part back. While the resolution is better than some of the ninfinger scans I wouldn't consider it a good scan. I also use them all the time and appreciate them greatly, but I hope someday better scans are posted.

Not to hijack this thread but it is about eBay "deals". There is a Centuri X-21 kit up for grabs. Anyone care to offer a guess as to what the over/under will be? I am thinking at least $300.

Yeah, I’d say it would go in that ballpark. Those come up very infrequently. I have them in the older packaging, but not in this last issue face card packaging. That would be from 1969 or very early 1970. Gone in the 1971 catalog which was issued in late summer of 1970. Earl

Do you have a link? I can’t seem to find it. I wonder if it’s still available.
