We're the same way. In the case of Lucy's the restaurant was right on the main drag, but was a few blocks south of the real crowds. They also didn't do much to promote the business, even though we tried to point them in that direction. Odd business model.

They consistently (that word again) serve the sandwich piping hot, the onions are always fresh, and everything about it after tromping around in a cold cornfield and facing a 90 minute drive home, just works for me.

I guess I should revise my never having a particularly good meal at McD's - there was an exception...
About ten years ago I was in Indonesia for my wife's sisters wedding. After the wedding, the whole troop headed to Bali - and the night we arrived in Bali I apparently got food poisoning. It was a bad case - the normal diarrhea and unhappy stomach but also a piercing pain in the back of my head - felt like someone had a nail against the back of my head and would hit it every five seconds. After a few days of this I started to get my appetite back, but just the smell of any Indonesian food made me nauseous again. There was a mall a short walk down the beach - with a McD's. So I walked down there and got a couple McD cheeseburgers. They were fantastic!

The situation that tdracer outlines above is about the only time I would find McDonalds good as well.

Or when you're trying to complete that Teeny Beanie Baby collection.

As for burgers just don’t even bother with Whalbergers . They are half a notch better than a Big Mack.

The best burger ever is an Oklahoma Onion Burger. Easy to make at home too!…mmmmm! Ok, now I’m hungry.

Excuse me, I have to make lunch.

I'll testify to that. My first car was a used, 1974 Fiat 131 Mirafiori. Paid $400 and a rechargeable Maglight for it. Electrical problems out the butt! I think I spent more time pushing it than driving it. I ended up GIVING it to one of the MM's on the sub.

NOTHING needs Onions on it. They RUIN everything.

As far as Italian cars go, there are exactly THREE brands of Italian cars worth owning and in this order:
1) Ferrari
2) Lamborghini
3) Maserati

I wouldn't be caught dead owning or riding in a vehicle wearing the "FIAT" brand; it means NOTHING to me that all three of those brands fell under the "FCA" label at one time. FCA merged with the company that GM convinced to purchase that gem of a company GME (Opel Vauxhall).

Default Grillin'!

HI all,

While there are a few burger joints that are good, the grill is hard to beat.
I just pulled 12 90/10 sliders and 8 Kogel's Viennas from the grill.

Didn't have newspaper for the charcoal chimney so gave the pyramid a good shot of
starter fluid...that worked out well. What is nasty is the "match light" pre-treated stuff - that
smell permeates and just won't go away.

here in GA we have Cheeseburger Bobby's ( https://cheeseburgerbobbys.com/ ) which is like a low-rent Fuddrucker's complete with condiment bar. When I moved to my current neighborhood a couple of years ago I wasn't happy, except that I'd be near a Fuddrucker's. Then a month after I moved in, the chain shutdown. Cheeseburger Bobby's opened at around the same time in a little strip center nearer to me, and all is mostly well.
