GH, I know you're Ted's political polar opposite in some ways, you're also very much like him in others. For sure, you and he are both very outspoken and both use very detailed descriptions with lots of hyperbole.

So, while I was reading the interview (thanks, Ted Macklin!), I kept thinking how much Nugent reminds me of you

(Please don't be offended. I enjoy your hyperbole )

Ah, ha, ha, ha! Why do you think I posted it? Hell man, I'm from downstate Illinois where there's more horses' a$$es than horses, but I got to Texas as soon as I could! Some of the finest people and best looking women on the planet, BAR NONE!

Me too! I know I'll never convince him of the error of his ways. I just enjoy watching him go ballistic!

Figures. Thanks for the warning.

BTW Tampa's not the place you want, Sun City Center is , retired yankee haven about twenty miles south right off I-75

Nah, Tampa/St.Pete and possibly Ft.Myers/Captiva Island are the areas for me.
Tampa has the Hard Rock Casino with a HUGE poker room.
Poker is my one hobby that supports ALL the others.
Paying for hobby goods on $$$ won at the poker table off donkey players is SO much sweeter than paying for it from my own $$$.
Lots of suckers/fish/donkeys in every poker room.
That's how us decent players consistently turn a profit.

Captiva Island is awesome. I've Been to Sanibel a number of times but for whatever reason never went out to Captiva till this past March. Very cool and completely different from Sanibel. It'll probably be the Fort Myers Beach area for Tami and I after the kids are off to college. Captiva is a wee bit past our price range.

Captiva is probably the most interesting area in Florida.
Tons to do there.
My family owned a condo at South Seas Plantation, Captiva Island, Florida from the mid-70's through the mid-80's. Spent some nice time there as a child. If one likes to collect sea-shells of many types, that is the best beach in the world.
The entire Ft.Myers Beach area is very nice.
I like the 'Gulf' side of Florida much more than the Atlantic side.
Less 'touristy'.
My Girlfriend and I are planning a soon trip to Captiva.
