I have the launcher I found online. It is chrome like the Quasar.

Early in my youth I got the bomarc (still have it) and my younger brother got the Quasar, actually purchased it at the company store, after we toured Penrose. Not sure the Quasar ever saw any flight time, as he played with it so much, flying it by hand that the chrome was coming off of the nose cone. Do not know what ever happened to it over the years.
But your collection brings out a little envy in me Good memories. |

I was lucky enough to possess and build every one except the Quasar.
After all when you're 11-12, it looked like a full Alpha to me. The others, though, especially the Vega and the Bomarc, absolutely bewitched me! I had to mow a few lawns to get them. Allen |

Just think how many lawns one would have to mow *today* to buy some those! Several of those get pricey when they come up for auction, as you are probably aware. Earl

The Citation Quasar and Patriot were the first two rockets I got in 1977.
The Quasar flew that day. The Patriot was completely finished two days later and was flown on a C6-5

Quick question on those Citation kits there GH (don’t mean to hijack thread): curious about which store you got them from in ‘77 and to verify that they were the boxed Citation versions. My impression over the years was that the Citation boxed kits were only at retail stores in the early 70s, then the remaining stock sold via mail order by Estes. Earl
