Default fins and patterns reuse

ok, starting this on it's own thread, so it;s not so confusing ,lol .

I'm keeping up on my list, and have noted the Centuri Taurus/Orion , Enerjet Athena/Centurion as noted.

also some additions as noted blow (open to input, some of these I can double check if the plans are psoted, others are missing online, so hard to be certain, hence the question marks ) .

Alpha - Super Nova (2011,ues two sheets)

Spin Fin (1355) / Mark 2 (1202)

? Skinny Mini (0880) - Red Alert (0893)

? Prime Number Explorer (0891) - Hornet (2030)

?? Super Neon (2050) - ?( 2x Eclipse )

? 2027 Silver Streak -
? 2028 Cajun -
(other likely reuses - Menace,White Tiger,Stinger(2040),Surveyor 2046,Javelin )

has to be more, as well, as I noted in prior post, most of the 'new' 3fnc kits are likely to reuse a fin die already paid for.

will keep adding any comments to my list, maybe it's useful, maybe not, but what the heck :-)

Default Fins...

I think I may have just stumbled on another one...

Estes #1323 Stiletto and #1356 Astro Bee...

I do believe these are the same fins. Someone else please look at the fin scan from the Stiletto and give me your opinion. The outline images I have from the Astro Bee appear to match the photo scan of the balsa fins quite well. See the attachments...

Bingo !

* what do you win ? *

I printed out the 1323 Stilleto fins as shown, and just checked them against my 90% done Astro Bee clone ( built with original fins, using the dimensions and decal drawing that was posted here a bit ago ).

match up near exactly , given for sanding and scannign variances.

so, one more to add :-)

I was looking at catalogs and wondered if the harpoon (not sure the kit #, the one witht he Centuri Sky Lab cone) , used these fins as well ?
anyone have one of those kits ( another that's miossing online )

Until the Astro Bee plans get posted, we at least have one "official" reference source for the fin patterns that will allow us to build that puppy!

Estes #1915 Harpoon, and I believe you might be correct! I had one of these way back when, might still have the plans somewhere...

And on the further subject of "Getting the most mileage out of one idea"...

That nose cone was also used for the Centuri Buck Rogers "Earth Forces Laser Lance", #5334...

...and it was also used on the Estes #1378 Firecat.

Make that two. I took the fin scan from the Stiletto and held it up to my original AstroBee. The fins were dead-on the same.

Later,
